6 Tips to take care of your dry winter skin

Winter is brutal and it could be time to change up your skincare. Here are some great tips to make sure you have fantastic skin even in the cold months!

1. Moisturize, moisturize and moisturize! Switch from your light-weight summer lotions to something a bit heavier and creamier. Your skin will need extra hydration during the fall and winter as temps dip down and dryer air settles in. As you transition from summer to fall, you"ll need to balance your skin's moisture. The best way to lock in moisture is to apply your lotions after you've showered.

2. Drink plenty of water! Drinking water year-round is good for you as it keeps your body in good working order and hydrates from the inside out.

3. Use sunscreen! Just because summer is over doesn't mean you need to put away your sunscreen. If anything, you should need to buy another bottle of your favorite sunscreen to last you through the next couple of months. Try to find a moisturizer with SPF built in to kill two birds with one stone.

4. Don't neglect your feet! Keep them looking their summer best during the fall and winter by exfoliating and moisturizing. So what if they'll never see the light of day during the cold months? They still need attention and the better you take care of them during fall and winter, the better they'll look the next time you slip into you favorite pair of sandals for spring!

5. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! Keep skin looking fresh and those clogged pores and blemishes at bay by sloughing off those dead skin cells!

6. Don't forget your vitamins! Taking Vitamin C is a great way to boost your immune system and heal broken and chapped skin for fall and winter.
